What You Need To Know Before You Start

  • Periodicals are magazines, journals and newspapers or publications that are published periodically or on a regular intervals, ex. daily, once a week, once a month, etc.
  • The difference between scholarly journals and other types of periodicals.
  • Put your search terms in the most appropriate field --ex. subject, location, person, abstract, etc.
  • Always limit your search to full text.
  • The periodicals available online from the library databases are online paid subscriptions and are not free.
  • Ebscohost is a Power Library database and you will need your Twp. Library card to access it from home.
  • You can have new issues of publications or updates of searches sent directly to you with RSS feeds.
